Introduction: Ministry of Ecology, Spatial Planning and Urbanism announces an international Competition for the conceptual architectural design of the CITES centre and the ZOO with surrounding contact area in Berane. The general and ultimate goal is the creation of a new modern affirmative space on the territory of the Municipality of Berane, which will contribute to the education and improvement of the care of endangered animal species, as well as the overall offer of the city, and the mapping of Berane as a special tourist destination.
Summary: This competition is international, general, single-stage and anonymous.
The subject of the competition is the development of architectural concept design of the CITES centre and the ZOO with surrounding contact area in Berane, on UP-1, UP-03, UP-05, UP-06, UP-06a, UP – 66′ and part of UP – 04, which include cadastral plots 750 and 751, as well as parts of cadastral plots no. 744, 745, 746, 749, 752, 753, 899, 900, 901, 1614/1, 1614/3 and 1614/4 KO Donje Luge, Municipality of Berane, in the scope of Amendments to the Detailed Urban Plan “Right Bank of river Lim” (Official Gazette of Montenegro – Municipal Regulations No. 18/17). The area covered by the tender is approximately 5.8 ha.
The participants are expected to offer a conceptual design that will propose, taking into consideration the natural and morphological features of the space, a new specific content that will adequately treat the river and other found and planned elements of the scope contact zone. In addition to achieving high ambient values and attractive design, it is necessary to provide access to contents for all groups of users. In order to actively use the space, it is necessary to enrich the scope of the Competition with contents that will encourage intensive use, both by residents of Berane and visitors from other cities of Montenegro.
The deadline for submission of works is 30 September 2022.
The results of the competition will be announced by 17 November 2022.
The competition fund, according to the estimated value of the investment, amounts to 40,000.00 euros gross.
Prize fund amounts to 26,000.00 euros gross and will be distributed as follows:
I prize – 12,000.00 €
II prize – 7,500.00 €
III prize – 3,500.00 €
Two redemptions of 1,500.00 € each
