Introduction: The City of Stuttgart and the State of Baden-Württemberg are organising an open international ideas competition in cooperation with the International Building Exhibition 2027 (Internationale Bauausstellung 2027 StadtRegion Stuttgart, IBA’27). In 2027, the Weissenhof Estate in Stuttgart will be 100 years old. This upcoming anniversary forms the basis for IBA’27, preparations for which are taking place in Stuttgart and its region. After a century of architectural and urban history, the IBA offers the opportunity to rethink the built testimonies of Modernism and to advance the urban design at Weissenhof with a contemporary model.
Summary: In 2027, the Weissenhof Estate in Stuttgart will be 100 years old. The famous estate with 21 houses was built for the Deutscher Werkbund exhibition in 1927 under the artistic guidance of Mies van der Rohe. The two houses of Le Corbusier are now part of the World Heritage Site. This upcoming anniversary forms the basis for the International Building Exhibition 2027 (IBA’27), which takes place in Stuttgart and its region. After a century of architectural and urban history, the IBA offers the opportunity to rethink the built testimonies of modernism and to advance the urban design at Weissenhof with a contemporary model. To this end, the state capital Stuttgart and the state of Baden-Württemberg, in cooperation with the IBA’27, are going to announce an open international ideas competition for the urban design of Weissenhof and its surroundings in 2022.

Submission of competition plans: week 13/2022 Submission of model: week 14/2022
Prize jury: 20. and 21.06.22
A total of € 150,000 (gross) will be awarded as the prize money.
The call for entries is in German and English. The language of the competition is German.

To participate in the competition, you have to send the completed registration form (German) to vergabe@pesch-partner.de by 11.02.22, 8 pm. You can already register officially.
